Hope and Glory: An admiring glance back at British family life throughout the first years of WW2 as seen through the eyes of a youthful boy to whom everything is an incredible venture. Cast includes Sarah Miles, David Hayman, Derrick O'Connor, Susan Wooldridge, Sammi Davis, Ian Bannen, Sebastian Rice-Edwards, Jean-Marc Barr, and Annie Leon. (113 minutes, 1987)

Dillinger and Capone: In 1940, discharged from prison, Al Capone (Abraham) holds the family of John Dillinger (Sheen) for ransom. Al desires the bank robber to recoup 150,000 dollars of Capone's monies from a hotel in Chicago. The clever plot is increased by smooth acting jobs, although it eventually skids into a basic heist thriller. Cast includes Martin Sheen, F. I Want Someone to Eat Cheese with: Garlin makes an unassumingly involving impact as an overweight, unlucky, in love comedian that imagines he could be the one for the lead role in a suggested redo of Marty. Silverman is a standout as an insane/seductive ice cream parlor waitress. Cast includes Jeff Garlin, Sarah Silverman, Bonnie Seek, Amy Sedaris, David Pasquesi, Gina Gershon, and Elle Fanning. Primal Fear: Hotshot Chicago lawyer defends an altar boy implicated of brutally killing a much loved archbishop even though all proof appears to point to the youthful gentleman's guilt. Gere gives a powerful performance in one of his best roles, as an arrogant attorney who, for once, doesn't have all the facts straight. Newcomer Norton is additionally very impressive. The film loses some of its impact by going on too long and by following unconnected tale facets. Mrs. Brown, You've got a Lovely Daughter: A stupid reprieve for a film, with Herman and his Hermits heading for London to enter their greyhound in a race.
