Belle de Jour: Bunuel's wry and upsetting story of a virginal newlywed who works the night switch in a high-style Parisian brothel, unbeknownst to her spouse. Bunuel's recipe of stunning topic belies the acute humor of his script (co-written with Jean Claude Catriere). Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli, Genevieve Page, Francisco Rabal, and Pierre Clementi. (100 minutes, 1967)
Rhapsody in August: Average (by his own estimations) little Kurosawa is a piece in reference to the hurtful memories of a Japanese woman who recollects the bombing of Nagasaki at the end of WW2. Gere, in a hyped up cameo, doesn't appear too out of place as a Japanese American member of the old lady's lengthened family. Cast includes Sachiko Murase, Richard Gere, and Narumi Kayashima. The Day Time Ended: Sci-fi mumbo jumbo in regards to a family living in the desert, who witness odd and horrifying phenomena. Cast includes Jim Davis, Dorothy Malone, Christopher Mitchum, Marcy Lafferty, Scott Kolden, and Natasha Ryan. (79 minutes, 1980)
The Bellboy: Entertaining succession of blackouts with Jerry as a bellboy at Fontainebleau in Miami Shore. The film has no structure although a lot of outrageous gags.
