Now is the best point in history to be a movie buff. It used to be that the only way you could see a great motion picture was to visit the movie theater. Afterward video stores came on the scene but you had to go over there and many times the films were out of stock. You also needed to be anxious about getting the show back to the store in a timely manner or you had to pay a late fee. Even now when you can get movies in the mail, you still have to wait.

Rampage - Pregnant Long Island housewife, not able to contend with married life escapes her husband and picks up a simple minded football player on the street. Cast includes Michael Biehn, AIex McArthur, Robert Duvall, Marya Zimmet, Tom Aldredge, and Laurie Crewes. (97 minutes,'92)

Like Water for Chocolate - Striking and intense film from a book by Laura Esquivel set in the early part of the 20th century - a young woman's life is conditioned by her somber and unbending mother, who treats her terribly. Spectacular tale, not without humor, with an admirable cast and a top of the line performance from lead actress Cavazos. Cast includes Lumi Cavazos, Marco Leonardi, Regina Tome, Mario Ivan Martinez, and Ada Carrasco. (113 minutes,'92)

Mysterious Lady - An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, clueless that she is a Russian agent. Another artificial plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly. (96 minutes,'28)

The Accidental Tourist - This film tells the account of Macon Leary, who is lethargic after the loss of his son. This is compounded further when his wife decides to leave him because he won't snap out of it. With a divorce impending he finds himself mixed up with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more difficult questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

Cuba Crossing - Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes involved in a scheme to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and at minimum the landscape is beautiful. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes,'80)

Inferno - American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to examine the shocking death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" causing paranormal anarchy on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento doesn't make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes,'84)
