Field and Kline are a treat to watch playing larger than life characters, however Whoopi is trashed, Downey is miscast, and the script (by Robert Harling and Andrew Bergman) thinks that anxious is funny. China Gate: Global cadets under French instruct assault a Socialist munitions area in Indochina. Fascinating subplots flesh out Fuller's dynamic action tale, with an early view of Vietnam's internal strife.
